ASUS is ready to launch the smartphone-to-tablet convertible Padfone 2 on 16th October 2012. The original Padfone hasn’t quite take off, and here comes the next generation. The ASUS Padfone is actually a unique device, and probably the only device of its kind. You get a Android-powered 4.3-inch smartphone, along with a tablet. The 10-inch tablet runs full Android OS when the Padfone is docked in place.
So, ASUS Padfone packs the power of two devices in one. You can even transform it into a laptop, with the optional keyboard dock.
The ASUS Padfone 2 is believed to be even more powerful with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and a 4.7-inch smartphone with 720p display. The invitation sent by ASUS mentions that the 16th October event will take place both in Milan, Italy and Taipei, Taiwan.
The original ASUS Padfone is powered by dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and comes with 1GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 8-megapixel digital camera with Fuji image processor.
While rumors around the device have already started making news, we’ll know more about the ASUS on 16th October.
