Videocon, the Indian multinational conglomerate, is now joining the smartphones and tablet manufacturers. After launching two affordable smartphones, A20 & A30 in India, the company has launched it’s first budget tablet PC running the latest version of Android — 4.1 Jelly Bean. The 10-inch screener, packs good power, and is backed up by a 6800-mAh battery.
The VT10 from Videocon comes with a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5 Ghz Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GB RAM. The tablet runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and comes with both front and rear 2-megapixel camera. There is a standard 32GB expandable MicroSD slot, while the tablet has 8GB of in-built storage. What makes this device differ from other budget tablets is the option to extend the connectivity to 3G cellular using a USB dongle.
Coming from a company like Videocon, the built quality of the tablet should be good, and better than it’s competitors.

Competition/Alternatives
The Videocon VT10 tablet competes with the Karbonn Smart Tab 10, and the Micromax Funbook Pro. The Karbonn Smart Tab 10 is a new offering from Karbonn, and almost matches the VT10 in terms of specification. It runs a 1.5 GHz Cortex A9 Dual Core Processor, and is available at various online retailers at INR 9999.
